The eagle circles majestically
Grooving over and over
In an imaginary whirlpool of air
And latching onto a new arc
Every time the imaginary vortex is reached
Revealing a black brown belly
The brownness stretching out to
Her graceful, dancer wings
Letting out a shrill cry
That attenuates but manages to
Trickle down to my playful toddler
Who looks up in wonder and welcomes
His avian friend into the folds of
his tiny but growing world.
